Interior ceilings warranty
9Wood includes a standard one-year warranty on all interior ceilings. The largest issue underwriting an interior wood ceiling is the building’s environment.
The strategies outlined in the acclimatization handbook will greatly increase the chances of a successful installation.
Well-managed relative humidity and temperature ranges define a controlled space. We call this a “Track A” installation, which is explained in our “Wood Ceiling Acclimatization for Professionals” handbook (see page 15 for details).

Options for uncontrolled acclimatization
One of two issues can prevent installation in a controlled environment. Either the schedule does not allow proper acclimatization, or the HVAC will not be functional enough to control the environment.
In either case, 9Wood can help mitigate negative effects with some accommodating design solutions. When you anticipate or discover a less than perfect environment, the strategies outlined in the acclimatization handbook will greatly increase the chances of a successful installation.
There are two warranty options.
- A project-specific Assigned Risk Warranty may be purchased from 9Wood to help manage the added risks associated with uncontrolled acclimatization.
- Alternately, the customer may decide to forgo warranties of any sort. This leaves all risk with the customer, but avoids the additional cost typically associated with an Assigned Risk Warranty.
Exterior ceilings warranty
9Wood offers a year warranty on exterior wood ceilings with exterior protecting finishes, exterior friendly species, and exterior supporting attachments. These warranties are limited to soffits and other protected spaces, areas free from direct moisture and UV contact.
Freight damage warranty – Updated 2025
9Wood now requires that any freight damage or product defect claims be reported within four (4) days of delivery. This change aligns with freight carriers’ concealed damage claim window of five (5) days, ensuring issues can be addressed promptly. We strongly recommend inspecting all shipments upon arrival and reporting any concerns immediately to avoid claim denials. For any active projects, please reach out to your Project Coordinator if you have any questions.
